Rising Roots Youth Workshops

Rising Roots Youth Workshops give young people ages 7-17 a safe place to learn natural hair care while growing real confidence and leadership. As a licensed cosmetologist and master educator, I guide students through hands-on activities that make healthy hair routines easy to understand and fun to practice.

Youth practice detangling, moisturizing, basic braiding, and simple protective styles, while also learning the science behind textured hair and proper tool sanitation. They leave knowing how to care for their own hair with less pain, breakage, and frustration at home.

Every workshop is also a confidence circle. We speak life over our crowns, explore cultural hair history, and use teamwork challenges so students learn to communicate, support one another, and take pride in their unique beauty. These workshops are ideal for parents, schools, and community programs in Chicago, Illinois who want enrichment that blends practical skills, cultural pride, and character-building in one powerful experience.
